Environmental Trust - Priorities for environmental research
Status:
Advice provided
Advice date:
February 2015
Summary
The Environmental Trust engaged the Commission to co-develop a framework and process for developing priority themes for the Trust's Environmental Research Program. We were to apply this process to develop priority themes for the 2015 application round, and provide advice about how the prioritisation process could be improved for future rounds.
In February 2015, we provided a final report to the Trust.
The co-developed framework provided a rigorous and objective approach to develop priority research themes. It included prioritisation principles, filter analysis and the use of a multiple criteria analysis to rank the short-listed research themes.
We applied the framework and identified a total of 24 potential research themes and shortlisted 21 priority themes based on filter analysis.
We also identified future opportunities to improve the effectiveness of the program.
